Finally get to send this home. 85 K20 came in for a repaint, so back to the original color with some new brightwork and off it goes!!

Finally found a clean GMC tailgate!!

After searching for the past few months for a decent GMC tailgate, I got lucky and found one about two hours away, and for $50! It's been kinda of a struggle trying to find one with the GMC logo, and then having to deal the ole Fakebook market place BS, but I finally have the last replacement...

    Front End Sheet Metal Assembly

They way I do mine is like you stated core support first, but I make sure it's squared to the fire wall on both sides. I also install the inner fender to the fenders then hang. I also use plenty of masking tape to protect the panted edges. The cheaper blue painters tape is what I normally use...

    Weekend project. K5 disassembly!!

Finally got a chance to tear apart this K5. It was involved in a roll over and was totaled. Body and frame is toast but drive train and a few suspension are still salvageable. It was fun and sad at the same time!

What new tools have you got lately?

Treated myself to a pair of new paint guns. All my years I've bought 2nd hand tools and used items, never could justify the outrageous prices on things....until now. My older guns are approximately 10 plus years, so these will be around for a long while!

    Found another 83-84 GMC grill!!

So found these in a recently sold property, along with some older Chilton, and Motor labor rate manuals. The 84 grill is a non classic, with a few broken lower mounting tabs, but in good shape. I'll inspect it more when I clean it up. The 80 grill has a few broken grill slats, but still decent...

    GMC Grill

Swap meet is where I found fine. I found a Sierra grill for $50. I had to add the park light bracket from my Sierra Classic grill to make it work. But it worked.

    Pulling Sucks--2001 Suburban 3/4 ton--6.0

So I own an 01 Silverado 2500 HD 6.0 and I haul everything but past a gas station. Tractor weighs about 9k with trailer about 3k so right at my limit for the suspension, at least stock suspension. The biggest improvement I made was about 12 years a go I had a computer reflashed by a company...

    Scored a clean hood today!!

I've been slowly finding the parts I need to put the ole GMC back the way she should be. Found this hood, rust free and original paint with one very small dent for $100 on Facebook. Has the GMC hood ornament as well. Still looking for a GMC tailgate and A/C, cruise control parts. But getting closer.

    Factory hood stripes?

Trust me, if it's not a factory option, it's not happening....

    Factory hood stripes?

Agreed, if they're factory I like them. I was curious if they were a factory option. My truck has a ZY5 rpo and I didn't seen anything about hood stripes. But I did talk with the original owner and she said, they have been there since since new. It was her grandfather's truck. And my goal is to...

    Factory hood stripes?

Oh yeah, air shocks jacked sky high, N50 tires sticking out the back, or mud tires on the back of two wheel drive trucks.....yep, that was me..lol
