Pilot bush went in for sure after being test fit on shaft. Bought red locktight and new torq wrench just for this the job. Also, I did make sure to use new bolts. Lol the rest all SEEMED like it was done right. The slave cylinder just drops over the shaft and is held in place by two bolts. I...
@Bextreme04 Bell housing came out of a 97 K2500 when I bought the original swap. And no I never did take measurements. Couldn't tell you where but I'm pretty certain I'd read that I needed that bell housing. Drive shafts and cross member fit exactly like it should.
It makes the knocking...
No...pretty positive a mid 70s 454. Or at least the block is. I'll call up to O'Reilly's and see what the flywheel was. Pretty sure I tried to match it to the transmission and not the motor. Did not realize there would be a difference.
Finally found the clutch kit and slave part numbers...
Backstory....spent several years now sourcing parts to put a later model NV4500 in my 83' K10 Suburban. Total Frankensteins monster. Finally got it all in...fired it up.... Much to my dismay there was a terrible knocking sound coming from the bell housing. Finally got time to pull it all back...

Well....replaced the old fuel pump.....not pulling fuel. I did not remember draining tank. Possible that someone drained for me while it sat -_-
91 no corn is $4.20 a gal here rural Missouri. Smh.
Did this. No luck. Traced all the wires to the starter....found the problem. My buddy had installed the starter for me. Along with a bunch of other bits. Turns out not all of the starter solenoids are the same. The "S" terminal on this starter is on the opposite side of the one that came...
So I have a neutral safety switch. It is located at the bottom of the column. It is plugged in. I have not found a wire that would have went to the transmission....as a safety or reverse light. Was all of that controlled through the column?
Early 2024 the TH400 gave up the ghost. Turned out the pick up was just kind of flopping around in the pan. I then started on the NV4500 Swap. Its been a rocky road. But mostly due to getting ripped off....a lot. Long story. Though I jad made a post about it....but cant find it. Maybe it...
I've been gone a while. But looking bank through old posts I'm finding A LOT of comments I never saw or got notifications. I hate leaving people hanging.
