What have you done to your square lately??
I found the bushings were wasted on the pass side shocks. The worst ones were on the top of the shock. I noticed them when I was replacing the starter last week. I’m disappointed with the quality of the bushings. I had to replace one on the drivers side a few months ago. These are the Skyjacker... -
Boxing Frame
You could add plates to the frame. I've seen a couple of guys do it for putting in a modern diesel engine. I's a similar approach that the steering box frame repair plate does. You could also add a cross member at the front of the frame horns. I think the heavy bumper might make the frame...- 1lejohn

What have you done to your square lately??
While driving home from work last Friday, my old truck just died leaving from a light. I barely made it into a parking lot out of the traffic. I thought great you ran out of gas, but no the truck just died like I turned off the key. I try cranking it back up and it just turns over, then nothing... -

K10 with 14 bolt 8 lug or era proper 12 bolt 8 lug
They both are plenty strong for what you are doing. I'm thinking the 14 bolt will weigh more. The 12 bolt should have more gear set , and limited slip options. I don't think you could go wrong with either.- 1lejohn

Does this head/rocker setup need guide plates?
The pushrods are 7.2 inches long . The rockers are roller tipped cast steel. PDQ or something like that. They were the cheapest out there. Good luck with you build.- 1lejohn

Take a look on YouTube for a guy called piss cutter’s performance. I think the name has changed but it should still pull it up. He’s a guru on the cheap vortech head builds.- 1lejohn

I am running the stock springs that came on the heads. They were new GM castings. The pushrods are for a stock roller cam gen 1 Chevy motor. I had to run the reto lifters. Non roller block. They came from Howard’s cams. They are $$. The cam is the Chevy HT 383 cam. It also cam in the ram jet...- 1lejohn

It’s a single DIN. The dash was already cut from the previous owner. The hole that he left was almost bow tie shaped in the steel. The plastic covered a lot of it. It’s not perfect but neither is the rest of the truck. The navigation is a bit hard to see radio sits low. I looked at the bigger...- 1lejohn

What I have done to my Square lately…
Finally joined this century with my trucks radio. It works well for a cheap purchase. It has FM, Bluetooth, and a backup camera. It sounds good with 2 speakers in the dash, and 6x9s behind the seat in the stock location.- 1lejohn

K10 Evaporator Box
I repaired my box using fiberglass mat and resin. I put several layers of cloth on it. I used the resin sparing on each layer and let it dry before adding another layer.- 1lejohn
