Hi y'all!
Love the forum! I've owned a couple other square's over the years.....an 85 3/4 ton rusty old plow truck.....a pretty nice 79 3/4 ton 2WD 454 burb.....but nothing as clean and original as this new one I just picked up right before Christmas. I've literally been looking for 6 months since I sold my 99 K2500 4x4 suburban. With a family of six, the burbs worked well for us. But now that most of the kids are grown up and moved out.....it was finally time for a nicer truck.

It's a 78 K25 454 T400 3.73 gears........with and original 51,000 miles! It came with a small block 400, but the original owner didn't like it, so he had the dealer put in a 454! It is super tight driving and well maintained.
I just finish oiling up the under carriage with the Carwell marine/military application rust preventitive so I can drive it in the winter months. It sat the last several years so I'm going through everything and correction small issues and routined maintenance. It has been stored indoors it's entire life!
I'm going to take care of this one!

I'll throw some more current pix up as these were from last year! lol!

Looking forward to meeting y'all!
Ron M.

Man that's a beauty. Looks a lot like my 80 K25 Sierra Classic. I really like the winch setup on that factory bumper, I've been thinking about doing the same thing. How is it mounted back behind the bumper?

Thanks for the warm welcome all!

I'm presently working through a misfire I can't get a handle on. The engine runs great, it has less than 40,000 miles on it. When I purchased it, it wasn't running very smooth. So I threw a set of plugs, cap and rotor on it. Still didn't take care of the miss. So, I changed out the ignition module and the coil. Still a miss....so I rebuilt the carb. Much better! I've only driven it to work a couple of times which is only a 12 mile trip one way. Never noticed the miss until I needed to haul some things to/back from storage which is a 20 mile trip. The miss showed up again. It runs great off idle up to about 2000-2500 RPM. Then if I give it more throttle than that, it has a misfire that seems like a bad plug or wire type of miss. But when you let off the gas back to an idle, it runs smooth as silk. I'm thinking the plug wires are the only culprit left that could be causing the problem.....the reason I didn't change them is they still look like new! So, whith that being said, I will have to try changing them out also.

I'll try to take some pix from underneath in the near future. I need to get a winch controller cable because the person I bought if from didn't have it.

It's so clean because it came from Oregon. Only in Wisconsin for a few years from what I understand.....and stored indoors.
