I’ve read quite a few threads here dealing with heater cores and many recommend a Summit brass unit. Is this the correct one? (1975 Blazer, with air, originally had a 350)

That's a good unit. I have a HAYDEN in mine for over 15 years. They're getting darn expensive!

Not necessarily a summit brand. Just easy to find brass units on summit.

Have one of these, works and fits as it should.
It's the right part for your K5.

I ordered the brass Summit core, but based on comments here about the aluminum cores not being a good fit I took my old core to O’Reilly’s to compare to their aluminum Murray brand.

Not a good fit! My old core is stamped Harrison, so for all I know it may be the original. It was a perfect fit to the heater box. Comparing the two cores there is a definite visual and dimensional variance. Would the Murray work? Probably, but it would have a poor fit and not sure how much this would affect things.

Another vote for the one from Summit.

That's the problem with the parts store units. They don't fit properly. That's why the summit units have been recommended for a long time now.
