Will These wheels work?

I am doing an axle swap from the k10-k20 axles. I am trying to find some rims that fit. I was wondering if these will fit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/brw-997688042/overview/
I looked at the stock 15x8 with 4 inch backspacing rims that I have on there now and it looks like the tie rod would hit if there was any more backspacing the wheels from summit are 16x8 with 4.25 inch backspacing. There is about 1/8 inch between the tie rod end and the rims right now with the stock 15x8.

You sure you want 16in wheels? I think there are more tire choices and obviously less expensive to keep the 15's.

One advantage, if you're ever thinking of upgrading to 8 lug 3/4-1 ton axles, then you could use the same tires on your 6 lug 16in wheels to the 16in 8 lug wheels. Past that, I'd sure run 15's if I could and had a choice.

Must be something with your truck in particular. I have 16 x 8's w/ 4.25 bs and have an inch of clearance at the rims. Is it like that on both sides?

Yes it is like that on both sides. I guess it is different from 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks? Im getting the 16s because I am upgrading to 3/4 ton axles. I dont want to grind the calipers and all that. I will get pics when I can we have some storms rolling through and its raining very hard. Can you take pictures of yours sky surfer? I would be upgrading to 87 V20 axles

I cant even fit a pinky finger between mine with the 1/2 ton axles. Here are both of mine.

That's pretty close but the wheels you want might work. They will be 1/4" closer but you'll gain 1/2" on the diameter with the 16's. Are you buying locally or online? A local shop would be happy to set a rim on there to check the fit if they think it means a sale.

3/4 ton axles have a wider track, so there will be more tie rod clearance.

I would avoid 15 inch tires, 16 inch sizes usually are built with higher load ratings. Also, 15's are not a common size anymore and their pricing reflects that. Even 16's aren't as common anymore. I'd be looking at 17's.

Where do you buy tires? I've not experienced that yet, but of course I've only been looking online to get idea and prices. Online has everything in stock of course cuz they'll locate it at some warehouse nationwide and ship it to you. I too think I'd do 17's before I did 16's if i were buying wheels, but I didn't realize 15's were getting more expensive and uncommon.

The 33/35-12.5 tires are still easy to get in 15's, but they aren't nearly as cheap as they used to be. Other 15 inch sizes are getting scarce unless you are talking swampers or something. And then 16.5 street tires are about extinct. There's still a good variety of 16 inch sizes available across the board, and a lot of it is available in load range E. But I think in a few years, there will be much less available in 16" also.

Big thing I don't care for the 16's is, they only come in metric sizes so you have to use a converter to know how close it is to a 35x12.50 or 33x10.50 etc I think 17's come in both sizes IIRC. Haven't looked at 17's in quite some time.
