Hi,
So im looking to get some pretty wide and bigger tires and wheels for my truck.
An 83 k10, currently has 33's on it
Not sure on the width or diameter of the wheels/tires, will look and try to figure that one out

I'm thinking 12 or 14's for the width of the wheels, to do this would i have to change anything around on the truck or can i just put the wheels on with how it is?

Im new to wheels tires and suspension in general so im trying to learn a bit more

As for the tires, i would like to go with 35's, im pretty sure theyd clear with the 4 inch lift, although depending on what i find i might do 33's.

Any advice on all this?

Thanks!

If you go 35s with a 14" wide wheel, your gonna need a 6"lift, or quite a bit of fender trimming.

I might be doing a 6" in the future anyways, not sure yet.

Would 33's and a 14" wide wheel work?

Thanks!

14" wide tire is too big... WAYYYYY to big.

10" or 12" is the absolute biggest I would recommend to put on a 1/2 ton.

Okay, thanks!
Shows how new i am to this part of the truck lol
If i went 12" wheels would i be able to run 35's, or would i be better of staying with 33's?

35x12.5 mounted on x10 wide wheels with a 6" lift would be perfect. Seems like the most common set up with these trucks.

you can go 12 or 14 wide with 35s, but upgrading the wheel studs to a 9/16" or even better 1/2" is a must.

Oops, didn't know what your current set up is.

Wether you clear a certain set up is up in air due to several factors. IMO, an important but often overlooked one is the offset or backspacing. I have seen guys clear 35's easily with just a two inch lift. But they were running stock wheels to do it too. I have a hunch on the look you are going for, and offset is going to be your big sticking point I think. Do you have a picture example of what you have in mind?

This is my blazer 9" lift , cut fender's , 8 lug , 15x14 bart wheels , 40x17x15 monster mudders and it still hits when twisted up. I use these tire's for the mud and off roading in the winter and spring time . My other tire's are 38's on 12 wide for everyday use.
