I was wondering why the 88 and 89's are not included as squarebody dates used on this forum. I always considered my 88 a square? Not really important just wondering if I am missing something here. Give me your thoughts.

Because the GMT400's were out starting in '88 even, though, the square burbs were produced passed 87. Similar to the GMT400's are generally said to be from 88-98 but they continued to produce GMT400's for into 2000 because the next generation was officially produced starting in '99. There are several examples of that over the years.

It's the body type designation that GM gave the "88-98" truck

You must be registered for see images attach

99-06 is GMT800 and then 07-current is GMT900. obviously, there is overlap in both of those year ranges as well as you pointed out for the Square Body trucks :D

... Just a tidbit to add to this thread, I think I mentioned this before on another thread.. not sure if here or not.. but in Mexico they still made the Squarebody pickups with the updated nose up until 1991, minus the crewcabs.
