I don't really want to sell any of my stuff, but I really should. My Nova is one of my more impractical cars, which is why it's first. Anywho, it's a '78 coupe with a low-mile 454/th400 under the hood. Body is pretty good, especially for an Ohio car, just needs some minor patching and the panels could stand to be aligned better. Interior is also pretty good, it's partially taken apart and I don't have carpet for it. Underbody and front suspension parts are all good. I have all the trim and lights for the car. It currently does not run/drive, it needs put together some to get it to that point. I have most parts to complete, but do not yet have a radiator, shortened d-shaft, electric cooling fan, or exhaust pipes. It's a very easy project to get going.

So what do you think the value might be? I realize this body style isn't very desirable, if it were a '68-'72 style it would be worth a lot more.

I'd say maybe 2000. And I bet people would just buy it for the drive train and them scrap the car

I was there too at that age. Every penny I made went to gas, insurance, and my car. But nothing happened fast at minimum wage.

I'd say 2500 be top dollar if u could just get it to start up for whoever looks at it u could ask 3000 and go down and get lil more room to deal without losing a lot money

it's worthless, just give it to me...seriously though, you should pull the drivetrain, sell it or use it on a different project. Then drop an old worn out wee 'o five and a th350 in it and i'm sure some high school kid will pay ya 1500 bucks for the thing with a coat of primer on it..

http://www.racingjunk.com what do you think the drivetrain is worth? What rear is in it?

The only reason it's not running yet is because I haven't had time at all to mess with it, which means I also don't currently have the time to part it out or swap in a different motor.

Besides that, I'd hate to take it apart. It has all the right parts to make a pretty decent car. Besides the 454/th400, there's a nice intake, new high flow fuel pump, new water pump, 105 amp alt, new long tube headers, new Eddy 750 carb, new HEI dizzy, new subframe connectors, a nice Quarter Stick shifter, and a posi unit for the 8.5 10 bolt that's under the car. And it's not very rusty at all. I was thinking put together and all one color it would easily be a $3500 car. Maybe close to 5K after some engine work and a few other things to make it really come alive.

It's disappointing to realize the car really doesn't have much value as-is, I guess this bodystyle gets even less love than I thought. If it were about 7 years older it would be a different story.

Its funny how this body style gets no love but the late 70s Malibu is starting to get some value. The engine trans rear plus parts would draw more $$ by themselves.

I bet just getting it one color would make a huge difference in the amount someone would give you for it. People are visual. Definitely looks like a solid car!!

big blocks run huge dollas round here, like 2g's for a motor with miles or maybe doesn't even run, see em on CL all the time.

I think spray the car and maybe 4-5k for it.

as is I wouldn't take less then 3-3500 for it.

If I had to take less I'd pull the drivetrain myself, keep it and sell the rest for whatever you can get for it.
