Bought a filter with a check valve in it and the damn check valve swelled up causing barely any fuel to get through into the carb. Picked up a filter on the way home from work tonight that doesn't have the check valve.

@1987 GMC Jimmy I did look at my primary shaft and it's actually still pretty solid, but my truck also only has 86k original miles on it, so I was hoping there wasn't going to be an issue. The carb ran well for about a year or so after I initially got the truck running after sitting for 12 years. Been the most dependable damn thing I've owned vehicle wise. I have a feeling once I can get the choke adjustment just right, it won't be jumping around on the cam causing my idle to go up and down.
