i want to sit lower and farther back in the cab or my truck.

the stock seat sits really high and close to the wheel.

is there a way to modify the brackets?
will a early 90s chevy seat fit better?
how about a ford or a dodge bench seat?

this is the only real drawback to the design of this trucks is the huge humped floor (for the dual fuel tanks)

how can i get a bench to seat me lower and further back?

Not too sure, but you could probably remake all the brackets with a uniform amount cut down out of them. So they'd mount in the same place, but be a touch lower.

If you wanted it further back, could incorporate the new set of brackets to also allow the seat to mount a set distance back as long as you have enough of a gap to allow the seat to fully adjust front to back.

So, fabricating new brackets seems easier than modifying the existing ones. Especially since you won't have to find a new set of seat brackets if the modifications don't work out or fail.
