Man I dont see how those Plates/brackets even line up. I had the worst
of luck trying to install mine and just left it out since there were BIG gaps
between frame and plate. I just ended up superduty welding the frame.
Fast Forward to 5:30 mark.

I'll be sure to check mine out when reseal time rolls around. It was an actual camper special in its previous life, so its worth checking out, even being only 2wd. Very much sooner than later. Steering is sub-system two on the punch list.

It's definitely more common in 4x4s and 20/30s that were worked hard but can happen on C10s. My buddy's '86 shortbed was cracked bad enough the box nearly pulled off the frame and was driving horribly.

I think mine got cracked from having P295/50 tires with 15x10 rims. Pretty wide for a front tire.

I'll take some ..

Got to warn you, I'm not fond of laying on my back and doing overhead welds .. Even suited up still get burns on my body ..

(When that happens there's a few words that inadvertently are said that would make a Preacher blush)

There's about 8 welds on the top side of the bottom plate that I didn't get photos of ..

I may clean up the welds when the truck is on a horst ..

Thanks. I probably need one of these for each truck. Wonder if there is any difference in the ORD one and others? Rough country’s is cheaper with free shipping.
