(LH) A buddy of mine accidentally ran into the left side corner of my fleet side. I know I can remove that whole side and go get another one from the junk yard.
MY question is, are the 73'-87' short beds for these chevy trucks the same. As long as I find a bed side without the fuel filler (mine is on the right side). Should they just bolt up?

Yes they are all the same. Even if you come across a nice one that has the filler on the left side you could just weld it shut

I think I'd keep the same bedside and just find someone that will cut that corner section off and spot weld it in and finish it. That's how I intend to fix my bed that got damaged from a tire blow out. That will also correct the worst rust spot on this truck too.
