My Dewalt is an older one, I had for at least 10 years and it still works great. In the shop here at work they use all makitas and they really take a beating and keep on ticking.

Both very good brands. My dad has a dewalt and it does a great job. A couple years ago I ended up buying a Craftsman (it was on sale) and it does a good job as well. The ones you have selected Dave should do the job :waytogo:

I like the smaller ones like the Dewalt you posted Dave, the Kaw looks too long and would be harder to run and get into tighter places than the Dewalt. I like the paddle switch on the Dewalt better than the trigger type on the Kaw too.

I need one that wont get burnt up from using it when cleaning that angle iron down to the bare metal and might use it on the truck frame also.

Might also check CL to what they in a used and compare prices.

Just buy the cheapest one you can find, YOU are NOT going to use it EVERYDAY, your not a metal fabber.

Heres an idea, Why dont you do a SEARCH on what ever ones you find look at reviews, and pick the 1 you like the best

You're not gonna burn up the little Dewalt just because it's short. I've cut, grinded and wire wheeled more steel than I ever imagined I ever would. Don't buy the Kaw just because it's a pretty shade of green.

Costco in Winchester had the 4 1/2 inch Dewalt for $49.99 last week. Thats where I got mine and it has proven to be indestructable. I removed 95% of the paint and about three thousand pounds of body filler from my 40 Cadillac with it.
