Well I about got everything together to get started on the conversion. I went with the a/c bypass pulley for now till I save a little more cash. Plus still working on what lines to get. Gotta get the alternator adapter wire in and hopefully will get started on it next week. Will get more pictures up as I go along.

Nice n shiney lol. Looks like the same brackets i have in my shed that came off of a 93 Astro i junked. I saved the brackets and all the good parts i could including the hydroboost and lines and waterpump a/c compressor alternator and the throttle body for my 3.4 conversion in my S10.

Will all that work on a Gen 1 smallblock? Got a list of the parts and what they're from and how much they cost? It would be nice to find a place that offers this setup ready to bolt on that ISNT billet aluminum and costs out the ass.

it should bolt up to any SBC that has 3 accessory bolt holes in each head. The only other place to get them, would be the bone yards...even the GMPP kit is over $700.

I got mine off a 91 Silverado with everything for $100.00. I just went ahead and bought all new parts so would make sure they all worked. And yes summit offers a complete kit with a/c for around 800 and non a/c around 700. Its nice to find a complete setup so you can get all the bolts to go with it. Also when buying parts be sure and get it for the year of what you got the setup off of. The water pump is reverse rotation as is the fan blade so that is something to remember.

I just followed this write-up.

About Done!!

Well I got A/C lines made at NAPA a few minutes ago and now gotta wait till next week to get it charged. Had to find an adapter for the R4 style compressor so they could make lines. But it is finally done. (As long as no problems happen while its gettin chardged)

Thanks! The stepped washers aren't an issue for me, I've got oodles of them.

Did you try out both alternator adapters?

With the AC compressor, are you limited to the pancake style with this conversion? I currently have a monster in mine (previous owner installed the whole AC system) that cranks out some serious chills. Hows Urs working?

Yea I would say you are limited. I haven't had any problems cooling with the pancake style. I did buy a more expensive type of orifice tube that the parts store said would help with the cooling.

I'm sorry I missed this dude, very nice work. You looking to unload that A/C delete pulley?

Last small block I converted I took everything of a mid 80's style firebird/camero with a 305. Had everything to run the water pump and alternator but left the V belt for p/s pump. Fixed my belt squeal tho for one of the wreckers that does alot of jump starting
