Radiator oil cooler help

So I have this '90 K2500 with a 350 auto that I ran into an issue with the radiator with. The stock radiator has a transmission cooler and an engine oil cooler, one in each tank. The engine oil cooler lines are aluminum with an O-ring and threaded fitting.

The new radiator came with a brass adapter that threads into the radiator and is for the slip in line held in place by a clip through the fitting.

The port on new radiator is different thread than old line and not deep enough for the O-ring end of line either. Can slide the old line into the adapter and clip it, but it seems loose (in/out) like it might leak when running, haven't tested that theory yet. Can't remember if you can adapt like this or not, maybe have to use a deeper O-ring?

I think you were sold the wrong radiator. The adapters are for the later trucks with lines meant for that style connection.

Think you are right Bucket. I found a way to make it work using brass flared propane fittings, just have to cut the tube at the o-ring seat, slide fitting on, heat slightly with propane torch because the tube is pretty thick, then flare...no more o-ring leaking. It's actually the fix for the stupid push in fittings, would have preferred to keep the old screw in fitting, but could not find the right adapter.
