My panels are pretty shot. PO riveted the silver trim pieces into place on the top of the panels. So I'm looking to replace them with some aftermarket ones as stockers are usually worn and hard to find.

Ive noticed different aftermarket suppliers offer different styles of panels. LMC seems to be what mine are probably. Then Classic Industries sells some with velour inserts but no top trim pieces.

So, has anyone replaced their panels with aftermarkets? If so, what did you choose to go with and how do you like them? Please post pics if you have them. Hard to get an idea from stock photos in all the catalogs.

Mine are LMC, I would rate them 8/10.

Looks good. I think the panels themselves are the same as what are in my truck. Only mine are old and uncared about for years. I want to lose my pull straps as well but stick with the silver trim, I think. I like the velour ones from CI but I just dont know.

Ever consider these billet inserts. They look good, are wicked sturdy, fit exactly right and can be drilled to accept pull straps. The countersunk holes on the ends come pre-drilled.

I always used them with very good results, then at some point I became an OEM disciple. Now they mostly get used as a straight edge:

Those are nice but I too want to keep a basically stock look for the interior. Outside the radio and speaker boxes.

Mine are lmc, bought the billet without holes for door pull straps. I like them. You have to cut out the panel for the chrome trim piece that goes around your open handle and of course for your window handle or switches.

Here is a OEM that had a huge crack at the top and bunch of dead plastic. I am using it as a test panel. I repaired the crack and filled the door pocket mounting holes. Sanded off all the dead plastic and sprayed it with Rust-Oleum truck bed coating. Sanded that until it had a texture I liked. Now spraying it with vinyl dye to find a match to my Corvette torch red interior.

That is really the look I'm after. Stock minus the pull straps. Looks good!

Thanks, I feel the same way. I love the stock look but the pull straps stretch and I always seem to break the little chrome covers on the ends.
