What Fuel Octane on your 350 TBI
I currently run E10 89 octane mid grade in my daily, '97 Chevy CCLB with a 5.7 Vortec. My '90 R2500 Burb had a 350 TBI in it, and that truck would run on just about anyone's gas. Usually ran 87 from Shell in it.

They are out there. My PO did the same thing, I was able to buy a factory air cleaner housing (tall filter version), with tube to cowling from another member on this forum. I feel that having the thermac, and cowl air system working properly helps with gas mileage some.
