Just creating a thread to let everybody know a bad battery will give you the infamous no tail light problem. Might be a noob thing but it gave me hell for a few weeks lol. Just passing knowledge.

I'm currently having an issue with my brake lights not coming on. Could you explain the issue you were seeing in more detail? I have had trouble with my battery in the past and wonder if that's related. 1986 GMC Sierra K1500

One thing to check on these tail harnesses is the single goofy chassis ground they used on each side-it is secured to the box behind the tail light housing itself. These points often get corroded or simply rust and break off. If you have a weak rear harness ground, that could be one of the problems. There should be a box to frame ground underneath too on the passsenger side typically.
