Hey folks, my tv cable is not self adjusting properly on my 700r4 so i was going to replacement it along with the bracket which is old and bent. Ive heard all the warnings about incorrect brackets and adjustments but have no idea how to pick the correct one. Ive got rpm air gap intake and edelbrock 1406 carb. Anybody have a suggestion?

Is the bracket that I attached the incorrect part for his carb?
That bracket is to correct the angle of the cable since the cable needs to be straight, he may or may not need it depends on the cable bracket, that bracket has nothing to do with the geometry.

You need the bracket I posted a link for, and the geometry correction kit that Art attached in his post for sure. If everything looks good using those pieces, you're good to go. However, if your cable angle is askew, you'll need the bracket I posted. I think O'Reilly's has the bracket I posted so if you end up needing it, just call them up, order it, and it'll hopefully be there the next day so you don't have to wait to get your truck back on the road. Here's a picture that shows you what the cable is supposed to look like from multiple vantage points. Geometry just like this and straight as an arrow from the top-down perspective.

That's fine if you want to go ahead and get the angle corrector (top item) just in case you need it, but as previously mentioned, it just depends, and you may not need it.

I'd just get the cable and geometry brackets and mount it and go from there..

The ends are the same it's the length, they are telescopic some combinations take different lengths to reach.
