Ok in a stock high tunnel floor ... a 4x4 tunnel that is this is what you get.. this is from my 3500 swap ... but directly left of the t case opeing will be where you 4 speed rests... they are side by side the 3500 sirs farther forward towards firewall

Greatly, yes. Looks like my stick needs to lean rearward a good bit.

Directly across from the tcase shifter (208) No pictures though

Do you recall about where the knob was when you were in 2nd and 4th? Was it real close to the seat?

I'll take a picture later today when I get home. I'll get one with the seat all the way back and one all the way forward.

IIRC, it was approximately 6 inches off the seat, which is slid all the way back.

Seat all the way forward it almost but doesn’t touch in second and OD. Seat all the way back there is three or four inches of clearance.

Thanks fellas! My suspicions are confirmed, I need to tweak the angle of my shifter stick just a little.

@bucket I came across an NP833 2wd transmission with shifter and bellhousing. I am planning to swap this transmission into my '68 C10 at some point. I have a question about the bellhousing. My current '68 327 has the starter that bolts to the bellhousing. I was looking at the aluminum bellhousing that came with the NP833 and there is no provisions for bolting the starter. It looks like the older cast iron bellhousings have a smaller diameter hole where the transmission input shaft runs through, but appears that the bolt holes might be the same. Does anyone know if an older bellhousing can be modified to be used with this transmission? There probably isn't any way to drill and tap holes in the engine block for a starter?

Your 327 more than likely has the threaded bolt holes in the block for a straight and staggered (153 and 168 tooth) starter. The GM version of the 833 has a pilot hole the same size as an SM465. If you want to retain your iron bellhousing, you could have the center pilot opening bored out to the correct size, if needed.

Thanks for the knowledge! It’s been 20+ years since I had the 327 out when Dad and I rebuilt it. I couldn’t remember if the block had the threaded bolt holes or not. That would make things much simpler.

Have any of you tried to get any internal part's for one of those transmission's, I have one I need to put bearings in, so I was going to put in seal's and the other parts also while it is apart. Thank you.
