New member with a 74 Stepside

My name is Jerry and I'm currently restoring a 1974 chevy stepside. The truck was bought new by my grandfather, he put about 52K on it and then it sat in a barn for more than 15 years. It was an original straight 6 truck with the 3 on the tree.

The truck has been lowered 2 1/2 front and 4 in the back. The engine is a 383 with vortec heads and a mild edelbrock cam, it made 345 hp and 445 torque on the dyno at a local engine shop. Trans is a 700R4.

The engine and tranny are sitting in the frame and all the suspension is there, the cab is getting some body work done to it and once i get that back I will start putting it back together.....

Haven't deceided on wheels yet, prolly gonna go with something in a 17 or 18, maybe torque thrust II's maybe.... Not sure.

Nice square! I sold a 65 F100 my Grandpa gave me when I was 16 and regreted it ever since. Dont ever sell that family treasure.

Welcome to GMSB !!! Nice project. I sure hope you're getting that 700r4 built right. That 383 with Vortec heads will shread that 700r4 like a wet paper towel if its not.
