Welcome 83K5. Come on in !!! Share some pics of your truck. How long have you owned it? How did you aquire it?

Ask questons where you need help and feel free to help out those who need help. None of us know everything, but between all of us, I bet we come pretty close to knowing everything about squarebodies.

Welcome man, we have a boatload of Texans on this site. :waytogo:
Easy there Retro. Lets not be making referance to Texans and Boatloads. Not all of them are illegals and didn't come over the border by boat. Some probably just jumped the fence. :laughing1:

My friend needed money for his other square bodys 2 k5 s and 1/2 sbsc and a 3/4 lbsc, he was going to part it out cause no one liked it rust I'm the floors and rockers , but it was the cleanest one I looked at rust wise. I'll be posting a slow build thread shortly and asking about a couple plugs under hood that's not plugged in anywhere

Look like you got a good start for what will be a sharp rig. I thought I had my mind made up for a 4x4 Burb instead of a K5, but I think I have flipped back to wanting a K5 instead. I think actually it'll come down to what is available when I have the cash the to pull the trigger, and what I can steal. Either Burb or K5, I know I want 1. Actually if I could find someone with rust out 4x4 Burb body and no drivetrain, just a rolling chassis with a good frame, then I'd take that for cheap and put my great 2WD Burb body on the 4x4 frame.

Like you said whatever is available when you get the money just make sure to look it over good so there's not a big surprise later on like my first k5 rusted out everywhere but they covered it bondo and carpet. The only good part was the 6.2 and the rebuilt t case. Later today I will tryto start my build thread so yall can see better what's it looks like

Yeah, I know. Just razzing you. It woudl be nice to see that build thread.
I know pretty well, at least I think I do, where to check for the rust underneath. They can sure be tricky at times. You get one you THINK looks good, then as you said, you find out its full of bondo, or even if they have replaced the rockers and it looks rust free, you get underneath and look at the body/cab mount supports and see they are almost gone or someone has put a 2x4 block there to level it off. Crazy stuff, but people do it and if you don't know where to look, you'll find it after you get it home and get under it under it to something like change the O ring on the dipstick. My bro recently bought an ElCamino. He got under to pull the trans and found a huge hole under the passenger side seat about the size of a meat serving platter. The shot a can of spray foam into a plastic walmart bag and filled the hole. Its filled but never the less, the rust is still growing and spreading. He'll need to replace the floor pan for certain.
