Hey everyone, just got another square body today. Haven't had one in a while. Got a 1985 GMC. Had been looking for a good 85 body for years that I could afford, finally found one today.
Got a couple small rust spots in easy spots - quarter size at the driver side corner, tailgate at handle, and pass. door has some bondo on it. Good truck, 350 runs smooth as hell, better than most I've owned.
Seems to have some recent interior work done to her- seat, panels and dash, new carpet also.

Basic plans at this point will be to get rid of the skyjacker lift kit, maybe keep it at 2" lift or even stock, it's too high for my tastes as is, also my wife says my you-know-what got smaller when I bought it.
-Get a SM465 and NP205 in it. Currently has the 3spd with OD, which is just garbage.

Oh, also if anyone is looking for a skyjacker lift kit around TN, let me know. Will be taking this one off soon, would trade for stock or near stock suspension, and if anyone local has a SM465 I got cash for ya.

Anyways, glad to have a reason to be here. Finally found a decent '85

So I find you a SM465 set up, you'd be willing be trade me that garbage set up you have in the 4 speed with OD?

I wasn't going to say anything. I know you're not blind.
So what's wrong with having bumper thingys? I just sold a set not long ago IIRC, for $50 and $15 shipping.

Great looking truck. I would have been all over that too even though it needs some work. You have a good base to start with. Welcome.

Nothing wrong with them. I'm just not going to rub them in Honkys' face every time I see 'em.

Ahh, I get it. So he's the one that don't like them. Ain't no thang, that's why we say, it's your truck, make it your own. We give some guys **** about them little tiny little boy mirrors too and some of us get **** for our Dumbo aka Paddle mirrors. Normally is all in good fun though. Some do the same over short bed and long bed too.

Nooo. He likes them. Very much so. I suspect he has several pair. Possibly as trophies.

Good idea. As much as I run into things, I may want some for mine too!
