Hello Everyone! I'm new to the site but I have a question.
I own a 84 GMC 1500 4x4 step-side that I have owned since 2005. In 2008 I wrecked it on the Interstate and kissed the wall, killing out the front clip and the frame. I'm now wanting to restore it back to its former glory.
One of my neighbors parted out a 1980 Chevy short-bed and he told me he would sell the frame. What I'm wanting to know is if my 84 will work on this frame and if so is there any mods I'm going to have to do.

from N. East Texas. Yes I'm almost positive the frame is the same. Are you going to swap your cab and bed over and just get new, or junk yard sheet metal?
