What's the smallest diesel you've ever seen in a square body?

I see people talking about 3 cyl tractor conversions and stuff, but I'm just looking for opinions.

The smallest I would personally go (ruling out a modern diesel swap like the 3.0L from the new RAM), would be a Cummins 4BT.

Those have more torque than the original 6.2's though, almost an upgrade. :D

I'm thinking something 2-3 liters maybe, 70-90 horse around 90-130lb ft of torque.

I'm hoping to scale it way down, so I don't have any trouble fitting it in the engine bay, and I won't be doing over 50-55 in it. Safe and slow.

I'd like to keep the 700R4 in it, but I wonder what'll happen with the lower revs of the engine, would I need a special torque converter? What's standard stall, about 1200rpm? Tractor / Harvester motors generally live under 3000rpm, maybe a small vehicle one that would do at least 4000?

The Olds 350 diesel came in some 1500's I believe. Not that many folks want one. The 4.3 Olds diesel would be a small candidate as well, but never came in the trucks.

How about a 3-53, there's one for sale locally.

Not sure what I'd have to do to mate it to the 700R4?
