Hey all; I am goi g to get my cab corners, inner and outer rockers replaced. They are not bad but want to throw money at it. How many hours would a competent body person spend to replace and perhaps make ready for pri.et? Thanks

All depends on the specific bodyman. The time spent is often less than what the average bodyman will charge. Also, most good bodymen won't replace good metal just for the heck of it.

Why do you want the metal replaced if it's not bad?

Will you be removing the front fenders? That will add a bit to the labor charge for an outer rocker replacement. Personally, I'd likely charge 12 hours per side, for inner, outer and cab corner replacement... if it's a decent starting point.

Edit

I see your pictures now. Yeah, that ain't too bad. I'd still stick with 12 per side, but that can vary widely by bodyman.

It's only the cab on the frame. I'm trying to get all the underbody metal down b4 I put ranks and drive train back in. Making it as simple as possible for bodywork

Now is the perfect time to learn. Parts are cheap. Cut away what is bad and fit in the new using only as much as you need. Screw it together Hire someone experienced at sheet metal mig welding if you don't weld. It should require very little bondo, just enough to blend the new with the original. There are several videos on youtube for exactly what you need. Might be time to buy a welder and learn with all of the money you can save by doing it yourself.

Don't forget to have a good look at your front cab supports as well. They are prone to rusting out
