How!

Im new on here and to the square body world. I recently purchased my 87 CC 4x4 Dually and am in the planning stages of the build. Im trying to work out what i wanna do as far as lift, rims, and tires. Has anyone ever done or seen a lifted phantom dually? If so could you guys post some pics up, so I can get an idea of what it looks like?

Howdy!

I'm a bit confused though, does "CC" mean crew cab or cab & chassis? If you have a cab and chassis, I think I understand your question. Dual wheels with a regular bed, right?

Crew Cab Dually. Ive heard of people doing a very wide single tire instead of duals, I have just never seen it on a lifted truck. I know a lot of guys do it on lowered trucks (Phantom Duallys). I would like to see if anyone has done it and what it looks like. If any one has done it, I would be interested to know what rim they used with what backspacing. I would guess 14" wide rim with a 15" or 16" wide tire.

Ah, got it. I've thought about that before too, there's been a couple times I almost started test fitting things on the rear of my crew cab dually. You would need a giant ass tire on the rear for it to look good, but that same size tire on the front wouldn't work and/or look right. The thought of having extremely mismatched tires on a 4x4 just doesn't seem right to me.

Yea, I know what ya mean. I was thinking about doing a hub conversion up front and running a regular wheel/tire combo. Might help out on the looks side. A friend of mine in Tallahassee, Fl said he has seen some running around there and they look awesome. Hopefully, he can get me some pics soon. I was hoping maybe someone on here could shine a little light on this since it seems to be so rare.

I say go for it. I always though it would be really cool especially for the mud. I live in Tallahassee Fl. And I think I know what your friend is talking about, but I've never seen one with the o e really wide tire, only the two skinny tires in the back. Still looks really cool

Yea, he says they are running 36/15.50 on a 20x14" wheel. I found toyo makes a 38/15.50 mt and a 38/12.50 which may help with the looks by offsetting the widths.

IMHO, that's still on the narrow side to look OK under those wide fenders. I like a 15.5 width just on a regular truck. I was thinking wider, which is one reason I thought about trying it. I have a set of 39.5/ 18.5's that might be wide enough to look alright, although the rims are bit narrow for that.
