Here's an old windmill tail, that part is complete, I think there was even a piece of literature on the inside of a piece of it. I'll have to get a pic of that. Easily early 1900's. Next to a big ol' piece of petrified wood.

Got that windmill tail hung up temporarily instead of sitting on the shelf. Also don't think I've shared my old military ammo boxes, as well as an old old wagon hub, haven't researched any yet, most are self explanatory. I'm sure my great grandparents got them to use as storage. Also got this can out.

The pistol was made in April 1863 and issued to an unknown Union regiment serving here in the deep south. The holster is Confederate

Micajah Wilkinson was almost 40 when the war started. Joined the local militia and was stationed at Camp Milldale, outside Vicksburg, until the siege started. The militia disbanded, so he came home to SW Mississippi and joined a cavalry unit, serving until the end of the war, and surrendering under Gen Forrest. All this while having a pardon from the governor from service (he was a preacher) in his pocket the whole time.

I have about 60 letters, him and his 3 brothers (and wives) wrote during the war, and several post war letters. Also have an original 1840 land grant deed to his father.

One of the original pictures I have of him and grandma Mary. Picture dates from 1880s (when Judson had his studio in Gloster). Also have their wedding picture from 1843

Picked up the Baby for $14.00 at a garage sale and the Big Baby for $40.00.
