im lucky, i only have to drive 2 miles to work and 7 miles to take my kids to school, not too worried about MPG at the moment lol... might look into a qjet, throttle response is always a plus

i hear a lot of people talking about the Qjets, are they really better than an edelbrock or holley if you get em dialed in? i dont think they look that cool, and i want my motor to look cool lol
The difference is night and day.

A good quadjet will out perform an Edelbrock any day and as a daily driver the holley too. The problem is getting your qaudjet into top shape. If the throttle shaft bushings and fuel well plugs are not rebuilt properly or the body is severely warped they wont work very well no matter who does the work or how shiny they look.

The quadjet performs consistently and well at all throttle stages and in off camber situations as well.

But yes for our trucks the Qaudjet is king of all carburetors for our applications. In fact a quadjet can be modified for race applications too and performs quite well. Up to 850 cfm requirements.

Seems easy enough I guess... Only small problem was getting the metering blocks off

Had a 600 edelbrock on my hotrod. When I swapped to a 600 holley dbl pumper i had better throttle response and a bit more power. Of course it wakes up around 2500, 3000 rpm. I put the edelbrock on my k20 and it runs very well. Good torque with edel perf intake. Brodix intake on hotrod.

I had to grind a bit off the inside of my covers on the ends. They hit my rocker stabilizer bars.

I'll pull the covers this weekend... I've heard they can be noisy, but the sound they're making doesn't make me feel good at all, sounds like they are way too loose to me.

I'll make sure it's getting oil, I really don't wanna pull the intake manifold off! Blowing out the rods is about as far as I want to get into it lol

Are they stock stamped or roller rockers?
