As title says I’m trying to decide on intake. Motor is a 406 with 6 inch rods. Cam .593 intake .593 exhaust with 1.6 rockers 249 duration intake 259 exhaust at .050 108 lobe separation. It’s a solid roller setup. Carb 780 prosystem. Afr 210 eliminators. I have a 3000 stall 3.73 gears with 33 inch tires. Compression is 10.2. I’m looking at doing some trans work and installing a manual valve body also. I’m looking at a victor JR or a Weiand team g. Also have msd pro billet mechanical with a 6 al box. Any help would be appreciated

Both of those are single plane intakes good for higher RPMs, A dual plane intake is going to give you better drive ability down low. If it is more of a race truck and you are planning on revving it out more often, either of the two will work equally well for you, it also seams this route could use more gear maybe at least 4.10 or more, 33" tire is that a slick or ? sounds tall for a street tire. if you are wanting more of a driver and power down low I would chose a dual plane intake and maybe a little smaller cam.

It’s a mud toy. So I’m looking for high rpms. Also I was planning on gears a little latter. I’m just trying to get motor together first.

Then single plane for sure, either will work great for you.

Next question I was gonna have the intake port matched and plenum work done. Is it a benefit or no?

with 10.2 compression you will not have any problem with fuel, I would run at least premium.

I would just port match to your heads and intake gaskets.
