Ok so you was able to hear what happens when I try to full throttle the truck now keep in mind when I took that video the map sensor was unplugged so that I was able to idle the motor and I won't be able to run the test you have explained to me until Wednesday as I have school tomorrow. Also did you get my text message I sent to you Jim?

Yup, I got it.
One thing I have not asked, have you put a new fuel filter in the 87?
HR, seems like the problem he is having is not EGR or vac leak related, after a certain RPM, it would still rev higher than he is able to get it.

You know for a fact the temp sensor is not working????? That's probably the problem right there buddy. That was going to be my next suggestion after the EGR and IAC. And forgimme if you had already said that was done, I skimmed the thread a bit. But, if you want to save some time testing all that other stuff and you KNOW for a fact the temp sensor needs replaced, then I'd do that first and it very well might fix your problem. And it's temp sensor, not temp sender to the guage right? Temp sensor WILL cause issues including hard start and driveability issues. That would be my next step right there.

How about codes?? I think Temp Sensor code is 15.

Idk if the code is there but I know the gauge does not read even when the truck has ran for an hour and I can tell the temp is at normal with the use of a thermometer water temp is at 190 to 210

So you're referring to temp sender for the guage. Not temp sensor for the ECM. The temp sensor can cause issues too.

Yes, yours might be in the manifold or thermostat housing...they call them switches in the parts books.
Where are the temp sensor and temp sensor located at?

Paul, your sensor for the computer is in the manifold, to the left(looking in) of the thermostat.
You gauge switch or sender is in the drivers side head, between 1 and 3

Ok so its a 2 prong plug by the thermostat that goes to ecm and the on on the driver side of the cylinder head is for the gauge. And is a single wire correct
