I just bought a 73 Chevy C20. Based on the VIN it originally had a 292 I6 but the guy I bought it from put in a 350. On my 66 mustang, when you go from I6 to V8 a lot of suspension parts need to change as well also the rear end and the spindles etc. Is that the case with these trucks? Do I need to get V8 springs in the front to handle the heavier engine? Did they all use the same rear end? Spindles all the same?

Thanks!

Springs might be different but with the age on the truck they are probably shot anyway I'd do springs and shocks all the way around. And rear end is the exact same.

with that said the i6 to v8 weight difference is so minor I wouldn't bother changing suspension if everything is in decent shape
