how much piston damage is ok

I have been thinking too much about the motor in 95 k1500. It had dropped a valve and left a good size spot on the top of the piston. Everything else about the rod/piston/cylinder is ok. Any specific issues running it the way it is other than lower compression on that cylinder?

Guess you could run it that way, but better smooth out all the rough stuff or it will cause heat and detonate.

With that being a 95 I'm surprised its not a roller cam block.

I've got eight of these pistons sitting at the machine shop. Would just have to get them off my rods. Not sure if they'll be exactly what yours is but they're dished with four valve openings in them identical to yours. Pretty sure they are stock bore and I won't be using them

Thanks for the offer, but these ones are 30 over. I wish i knew you had pistons laying around when I was putting together my coffee table. Paid $80 for a set that time

No problem hate to pitch em but no one around here wants to buy em....lol sure not worth much but a budget stock rebuild theyd be perfect for.

im doing a motor build right now its a 305 sbc went and talked with builders in my area and they said any nick or piece on your heads your cam anything will create a hot spot i say rebuild your motor those are gonna be hot spots and your gonna have more problems latter on
