Hi guys. How would I remove the ashtray housing from dash. The reason is my ashtray door does not stay closed. Any help would be appreciated.

Ditch the two springs and install a magnet to keep the door closed. The springs are a pita and end up flying off somewhere under the dash. I gave up and put in a rare earth magnet. Problem solved.

I'll see if I can find the thread. I did this one not long ago and did a write up on it. Just so you know, it's a PITA, but can be done with patience. Let me do some digging. Maybe I should have made that one a Sticky too.

Was going to respond to this earlier but lost the thread.

I don't recall there being a trick.
