High beam wiring kit?

I want to wire up the headlights on my 89 burb so the low beams stay on when I hit the high beams,,,,,,theres different kits out there,,,,any recommendations??? Is it possible to rig it without buyin one of the kits???

rough version. 85 and 86 are more or less interchangable. so are 30 and 87. depending on the relay used, if it has a diode in it to prevent breakdown voltage from jumping when the coil is de-energized, then 85 and 86 will need to be used carefully. very few relays are built up like that though, so i don't think you'll have an issue with it.

the "branch" for the top wiring is two alternate schemes, the one that goes to circuit 2 won't be protected by the headlamp circuit breaker(so you may want to fuse it), circuit 10 is(just make sure the breaker will handle all 4 headlamps.
