Does the Ign. switch need to be on in order for there to be power to the dual tank switch?

What is the problem with your switch? If the ignition is off and you switch it, it wont change, but if not switched back it will/should change when you turn the ignition on

Found the problem. something is wrong in the ECM. It was sending power the switch with the Ign switch off.
