Welcome, a So. Cal. feller also, (East county San Diego) I too don't miss much about Cali. Moved to N. E. Texas 16 years ago. The only thing I miss from Cali is the Mexican food, the Tex-Mex crap they call Mexican food here SUCKS!!!!!! I'd kill for a Carne asda burrito, or a shredded beef taco.

Oh by the way nice Blazer

You're not lying about the Mexican food. So Cal is the place for authentic Mexican food without a doubt. And the best places are the ones that are barely standing it seemed. The rougher the place looked, the better the food. We also had a small family owned grocery store near our house. They made fresh tortillas daily. You'd walk over to get a dozen pack, and they were still warm and sweating in the bag. Awesome !!!

We have several in OKC Metro too, but still, they don't compare to So Cali Mexican food that is prepped hot and fresh, not microwaved. And the ingrediants are way differant too. The place I went, you got chopped pork or shredded beef tacos, and they did not have lettuce. It was more of a shreded cabbage cilantro mix type, and the cheese was not cheddar, it was Monetey Jack, with house made green or red chili sauce. Friggin awesome. YOu woudln't think it was a Taco, but it was an authentic Mexican taco. .89 cents each for a REAL taco on white corn fresh made torillas that were soft and lightly grill heated. You didn't even actually cook the tortilla, just warmed it on the grill.

Just make sure its from a place you can't understand a damn thing they are saying, and you'll have the best.

HI John, what part of Cali you from??? I am also born and raised in So Cal. Downey/Norwalk area. I've been transplanted in a burb south of OKC for 20 years now. Not the least bit homesick. I do miss my friends and few relatives left there, but other than family and friends, that place can fall off into the Pacific Ocean whenever its damn good and ready.

Central Coast area my home town is Arroyo Grande. Its out near San Luis Obispo which is also close to Pismo state Beach. We have beaches we can go 4x4ing in I did it in my truck a couple times only because sand is so bad... It was fun though.

Welcome to the site and thank you for serving our country.

Sir you do not have to thank me. I work for you and I volunteered for this crap. I am not staying in but getting out in two years. I have done nothing to protect nor advance freedoms here in America. The government continually takes away our rights and doesn't listen to the people anymore. Its not right and its a real slap in the ****. I am not saying you thanking me but whats going on in this nation today plain old sucks. Anyway you're welcome! I already got into trouble for saying once I'd never obey an order to confiscate civilian owned firearms. Dunno if you guys have seen oathkeepers.org

http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2009/08/17/airforce-airman-thoughts-and-testimonial/#comment-849 there is my personal testimonial :patriot:

Yes, there is PMing here, but the used does have the option to disable it if he don't want PM's. Sometimes they block it not realizing it, so you might send a visitor message first asking if they accept PM's.
