Headers on or off for engine install?

Headers on or off for engine install? 79 Chevy k10 Chevy 350 full length headers.. Pulled headers off before I pulled motor can I install it with them on or is it a pita?

Usually, it's easier with the least amount possible hanging off the engine. Having said that, if there's a clearance issue getting them in after the fact, than you have no choice but to install beforehand.

You may want to set them down in the hole and wire them up out of the way to set the engine in, but many times you won't clear with the headers already bolted on.

Way easier to put the motor in without the headers, headers drop in real easy after the motor is in..

And besides being easier to install, it's a lot easier bolting it all up without the headers in the road.
