Has anybody ever notched cab for more seat clearance?

I'm 6'6", with the bench it was way too tight. I got a good deal on some refurbished Recaro bucket seats (Specialist M is the model). Got the brackets and sliders, and with it slid to the back wall it is very roomy. I have seen a couple trucks where guys had removed the saddle tank for a Blazer tank, and then cut the big humps out of the floor to gain room. Seems like an awful lot of work.
I'm 6'3" and about 260lbs. The bench has just enough room to be comfortable for me, but I have pulled the saddle tanks and have an EFI Blazer tank installed for the engine swap. I'm flattening the floors to install 99-06 Silverado 40/20/40 bucket seats at some point. I have the seats ready to go and just need to get my other projects cleared out and my honda running again so that I can take the truck down for the interior mods and the engine/trans swap. It's currently my daily until the honda is running again.

I'd be curious to know if you can lean back further after doing those things. I'm trying to be able to lean back another two or 3 inches. Once you've modified the floors, maybe the effect is the same because you're using different seats.

I'm 5'10". My seat is about right, but a little short to push clutch down comfortably. But, with my Hurst truck shifter, when I pull back to 1st or 3rd, its very close to the seat, so I don't know if moving the seat up will hit the shifter. I'll go try it today.
