Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. My grandfather had a couple 1980's c-10 when i was roughly 2 years old, ever since I have loved these trucks. For my 20th birthday I bought myself a 1985 c-10. 175 000 km, origional paint, next to no rust (up here in Quebec with our winters this is unheard of), standard cab long bed. It is static dropped 5-6, on 18" iroc-z replica wheels. My daily driver. It was aparently a fireman's service truck for roughly twenty years in a national park. I was wondering if i could get some of your help. This is like i said a 1985 c10. What is unique about it is that it has a 4.3l v6 (first year that they were introduced), carburetor (4.3l v6's had carburetors only from 1985-1986 before injection), it is 3 speed manual column shift (i believe that 1985 is the last year for column shift but im not sure) and to top it all off it is a bright orange! Original paint! So obviously this truck with all its aspects is pretty rare I would assume, what i would like to know is; Is there anyone on this forum that could help me figure out how rare it really is? :D thanks! :)

On a second note I am swapping the 4.3l out of it this weekend for a 2nd gen sbc and have a set of hedman 68290 headers does anyone know if these headers will work? They are for a 1970's chevelle Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure that 1987 was the last year for a column shift 3 speed, and it ran for ten years. The 4.3L was much less common, plus there were only two years that it came with a carburetor. I think the only times that uniqueness in terms of rarity comes into play with these trucks are stuff like the camper specials that still have the campers or a converted extended cab. Unlike most cars and trucks made in the past twenty years, these trucks have quirks unique to each one, and they're all pretty unique to each other.

Howdy!

A truck with uncommon high end or performance options is usually considered rare. A truck that is so basic that it's just as uncommon as the "rare" truck, is usually just considered "uncommon", lol. Either way, I like your truck and how it's uncommon. It's also interesting that your SPID lists the RPO's but leaves the description area blank. Must be a Canadian thing, eh?
