Cannot believe how hacked up the back of that gauge cluster was. I was also surprised about how much he raved about retrosound. I have that head unit in the Burb and hate it! Only thing good about it is that it fits without modifying the dash. The head unit itself sucks and operates like a fisher price toy lol

I'm still curious as to why he was getting a stock cluster housing to put in with the dakotas. They come ready to go, an completely replace the factory housing. He shouldn't have needed anything from a factory housing. He showed how hacked the old one was but never what he was going to use a stock housing for.

Plan for mine is to just put a stock radio in the dash for looks an run a Bluetooth Amp an just control music from my phone. I've never been to impressed with retrosound myself.

I was curious about that same thing with the back of the stock cluster. I just assumed he knew more than me and was doing something super genius that I'd not thought of before because overall his work seems to be on point :)

That willwood kit looked like a nice kit. Not that I'd spend the money on it as Willwood is super proud of their stuff but it did look to be pretty good quality.

Ya the stuff is nice but personally I like stuff that I can quickly an easily get replacement parts for. I realize a truck that level isn't a driver though so I guess it's a non issue.

I like the new Detroit speed setup. It uses gmt800 calipers/pads an rotors. The only hard to get part would be the rotors in 5x5. I still really want it for my truck though.

I'm with you. Something to be said for easily accessible parts and don't have to worry about the piece of paper with part numbers you swore that you put in your glovebox 3 years ago that has suddenly gone missing....probably on the work bench under a dozen of other things and an inch of dust :roflbow:

Man, after watching this im surprised GMG has anything still on the road
Many of the issues he's run into thus far were caused by Alex and his attempt to rebuild it. Who knows how good the truck was prior to the wreck. We know that the gauge cluster was a hacked up POS but that's all we know about the pre-wreck truck.

Not surprisingly, Alex started 'final assembly' with all the suspension stuff without making sure the frame was 100% back in alignment it appears. Wonder how well it fit prior than the collision?
