New to the site. I started working on my Grandpa's 85 Sierra Classic K1500 about a year ago, after it sat for 12 years. The first pic is just after the first time it moved under its own power again. The second pic is after I buffed the paint out.

I was very young when Grandpa bought the truck, and just about every fishing trip I took until I was in my twenties I was in the passengers seat of that truck with grandpa behind the wheel. It now resides in Ohio but luckily spent most of its life in Arkansas, away from the salt.

I still refer to it as "Grandpa's truck." My wife asked me why, and I told her, it's still his truck I'm just is care taker now.

Sure is a beauty of a truck. Love the GMC's. Story makes it something awesome. I have memories like that in my Dads 72 chevelle SS and procharged 08 srt8 challenger he had chevelle since I was 4 years old. All his cars are now mine and it's where I feel closest to him. We were looking for a square body when he passed to restore together so I kept that torch lit and bought one a few months back. Been almost a year without him and I can't wait for snow to be gone and get the cars back out.

Love this picture with him in the driver's seat
