Karl, Someone is right. That resistor on the back of the fuel gauge, if it goes out can cause all kinds of interesting and odd behavior with the gauge, but the most common cause is that the gauge will bounce around a lot. The purpose of that resistor is to reduce bounce since the tanks on these trucks are so long and narrow and unbaffled. Of course it's always possible to have connection that is causing an issue to, but if it were my truck and the gauge is bouncing around a lot the first thing I'd try is replace the resistor.1986 K2500 GM Truck with a Twitchy Erratic Crazy Fuel gauge.. Can anyone give some direction on what could be the problem? It doses the same behavior on either left or right fuel tank. Someone said it could be the resister on the back of the fuel gauge, Thanks in advance. Karl
