Stupid question but am having doubts about how I visualize this. Asshat that has my axles doesn't seem to be in any hurry. I HAVE to make progress on this truck the few days a year one can work on them outside in this part of the world. If I mount the motor and trans in the frame, will the motor be in the way of any of the front axle / steering component assembly? Seems to me most all of that is on the outside of the frame and thus the motor wont block anything.

I know its all doable regardless - just dont want to get ahead of myself. Been 30yrs since my last SB, so I'm not as adept as you fellas. Setting the drive train in with no cab or bed is a plus by itself.

ALSO.....'nuther stupid question: do the motor mount main bolts (what connects the clam shell to the mount) go in the same way on both sides (i.e., front to back, etc)? I had one going one way and the other going another. My trans mount had the spacers....one side under the frame, the other side, on top. Ask this because I'm suspecting this drive train was out of the truck at one time. Truck had lower miles but am wondering now if any of this is not original. Brake MC also did not match the build sheet. ?!

Thanks fellas.

-I think the pass side rear to front with the original mechanical fuel pump (clearance from the front) and the other side whichever?
