Often I think about getting a lwb square throwing a set of Cragar S/S 8s and 10s with spinner caps, a back sliding glass, aftermarket buckets, glasspack mufflers, dropping it 2/4 and rock it.

Am I the only weird one wanting a truck like that? They were all over the place like that when I was in high school back in the early 80s.

Comments please, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

sounds fine to me, tons of guys have old chevys with glasspacks around here, and my old man has cragar ss's on his 84 short bed, I put them on anything.

Nothing wrong with that! A lot of the styles in the past were great and I actually miss them. I would love to find some old Outlaw wheels and a tube grill for my '84. I'm not going to put anything on the truck that looks modern. Same goes for my Blazer, it has vintage hurricane wheels and brush guard. Nothing that looks modern anywhere, inside or out.

I was starting to feel like if it didn't have 20s and bags (2wd) it wouldn't get a second glance if you now what I mean.

Meh....I like looking at trucks with big rims at shows and admire the that goes into laying frame but for my tastes I loving driving my rides and like the traditional route more for a driver...

I know what you mean. I never cared for the big wheel look myself. I also have no desire to ever own a truck that can sit right on the ground. The only right way to build a truck is to do it how you like it, not others.

Yea I did my 82 stock but dropped and I'm a little nostalgic at the moment. Lol
You just don't see anyone going retro on purpose, other than a rat rod.

amen, I can't stand big wheels. I think I could handle 17's MAYBE, on a 4x4 I could with a big enough tire, like 38's or something so it has a fat sidewall.

We got a tube grille in dad's 84, but look at me, visors, roll bars, rallys or 15's. I like alot of the old school stuff.

I had a tube grill in my 78 back in 86, it was the shiznit back then. My mom had a 79 Dodge van with slots. My Dad just traded his 99 Chevy 1500 that he bought new he had slots on it.

I like your idea better. And IMO, I like them better modified in their original era. So if its an 80's truck, mod it like it was done in 80. If its a 2010, then mod it like we do today. I think it would be just fine with a 2/4 lower kit and some Cragar SS 15's with raised while letter tires. :grd: Just Do it !!!
