So motor is well overdue .numb 1 has around 25psi compression and the rings are shot! has anyone had any luck whatsoever with that engine restore oil treatment? not asking for any miracles just want it to last till I get another vehicle up and running! don't care what it does to motor it'll be in the scrap when I'm done with it!

To the best of my knowledge, engine restorer witch potions, pretty much fill scratches in bores and help that way but that's about it and even then the change is short lived.

Give it a try for what it's worth, doesn't sound like you have a thing to lose and maybe even a little gain will get you by.

You might try running a heavier weight of oil as well. A friend of mine had an old jeep cherokee with a similar low compression issue due to the engine wearing out. He ran 15-40w oil and it ran a little better, lasting about 10,000 more miles

If the stuff doesn't help it run better (which I don't think it will), it won't really matter, because running better and lasting longer are two different things. If it's just a dead hole, there's no reason you can't keep driving it until you are able to replace the motor.

Runs fine worn out but no problem other than excessive oil burn in left bank

Why not just try to find used oil from a car shop or something? I don't know what the laws regarding that are about this but that way you can just keeping pouring oil in...

We've been running our '88 Burb with a dead cylinder (and a LOT of oil consumption) for a year or two now, it just refuses to die. More recently I made my wife quit driving it, but that was only because the right rear wheelwell literally fell out of it. I still drive it when I'm home, still pull my trailer with it sometimes too.
