Ok so I have a question My 89 has different dually rims then some rims that came off a 88 crew. Didnt notice till I set my spare next to the 88 rims. The 88 are more rounded and the 89 are straighter. Did the style change or do I have ford/dodge rims?

I have wondered about this too, but I never remember to pay attention when I'm around the right trucks.

If I had to guess, the flatter style got phased in when the GMT 400 trucks went to production. They for sure ran that style of rim. The Ford/Dodge rims have a slightly larger hub bore.

My '87 C30 that I had back in the early 90's had the straighter style.

Well glad im not the only one to notice. Lol. Maybe they changed in 80 if you guys have the flat ones too and the round ones on my 88 were swapped on from earlier truck. Idk not that it really matters just seen it and was wondering what the heck was going on.

I think mine are the rounded style but I haven't seen the truck in a while. The truck came with 16.5" originally and I have no idea what year they were changed.

Idk why I always assumed the 16.5s were just for srws not duallys. I tried googling the rim differences didnt get far lots of threads about chevy ford dodge interchangeable thats about it.

my 80 had the rounded style. switched them out with the newer flatter style from an 04. the windows are also more rectangular than oval. just a personal preference.
