has any one changed a dimer switch on 86 k10 with cc...kinda wanting to know what kinda job it is?

Not bad, its on the upper left side of the steering column next to the ignition switch.

Nope, when you pull the lever, it pushes a rod that engages the dimmer switch that's mounted external on the column. It's adjustable too, and sometimes that's the only problem. I've also found that if the switch isn't used for a long time, it can actually get a bit stuck. The switch in my '84 started working after about a year of trying it every now and then.
