Well they come with a Detroit diesel, so that one's easy. Haha

I had a buddy in college that put an inline 6 Perkins in a squarebody. It was a tight squeeze though.

I don't know a whole lot about CAT motors but it'd be kickass to shoehorn a baby CAT into a square.

I can tell you this, my C15 (15 liter inline 6) Cat is 6 feet tall mounted in my Pete with the bottom of the oil pan about a foot of the ground. Id like to see someone try to shoe horn that in a square.:roflbow:

Never realy paid attention to the small Cats, how small do they make them?

This has been shown before, 4-53T 2-stroke in a '76 twin-stick shift...

I was just wondering the same thing. I've been searching on google for people who have used international or JD tractor motors. Some of them can be built up to have the horse power needed for road use. I'd love to take the turbo diesel out of the IH1086 at work and put it in a square.

The DT466 and the Cat C7 ACERT might be doable, but the first thing is a 2-3" body lift to help with clearance.
What exactly do you want to use the truck for? or are you just looking to do something different?...if so, a Pratt & Whitney pt6, or an Allison 250-C20b may fit the bill!

Yup, they continued the Square CK line with that engine available for a while after we went GMT400.
Perkins are nice engines too.

Great pic Retro.

They got V-6 Detroit diesels in many later model heavy trucks. Should be easy to find.
